Day 2 : Excursion to Jhalong, Bindu, Samsing, Sunthalekhola
This morning after breakfast, we take you for an excursion to Murti, Jhalong, Bindu samsing and Sunthalekhola.Murti is a small village by the side of the Murti River. It is an ideal picnic spot where one can enjoy the scenic beauty. Lucky ones can even catch a glimpse of elephants and other animals by the side of Murti River when they come to drink water.Jhalong is situated on the bank of the river Jaldhaka on the Indo-Bhutan border. It lies at the foothills of the Himalayas, on the way to Bindu in Kalimpong sub-division. Jaldhaka Hydro Electricity Project on Jaldhaka River is a major attraction in this area. Bird lovers can enjoy a varied collection of hill birds as well as migratory water fowls here.Bindu is the last village of West Bengal before one enters Bhutan. It is a beautiful valley on the bank of the river Jaladhaka. This river serves as a natural physical boundary separating West Bengal and Bhutan. Bindu is also famous for its cardamom plantations. Day 3 : Elephant safari and Excursion to South Khayerbari and Jaldapara.
After breakfast, drive straight for an excursion to South Khayerbari animal rescue centre and Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary. As on 11th Jan, 2011, there are eight tigers in South Khayerbari rescue centre of which seven had been seized from different circus troupes and one was brought from Alipore Zoo. The South Khayerbari Animal Rescue Centre is also the home of 18 leopards. A leopard safari (Optional), the only one of its kind in India, can also be availed in South Khayerbari Eco Park.A thrilling elephant safari is organized in the early morning from Hollong to offer the exquisite beauty of the vast grassland of Jaldapara. Day 4 : Watch tower and transfer to Kalipur or RhinoCamp or Gorumara Elephant Camp.
In the morning, we take you to have a feel of the Forest from a watchtower. Depending upon the availability of tickets/entry passes.In the afternoon, you would check-in either to the Kalipur Eco Village, The Gorumara Elephant Camp or the Rhino Camp. Enjoy the evening at leisure.If you are at Kalipur, in the evening, you will enjoy the bullock ride and visit the Medhla Watch. Watch wild animals from the watch tower and return at evening. Day 5: One Forest watch Tower in the morning and depart for onward journey.

Day 01: Alipurduar to Buxa Fort Via Santrabari
Upon arrival at Alipurduar railway station you are received and driven to Santrabari (914ft), a distance of about 36 Kms from Alipurduar and inside the Buxa Tiger Reserve.Santrabari is the starting point of your Buxa trek to Buxa Fort and Lapchakha. From here your 4 km trek to Buxa Fort starts. This trek is through dense forest, hills and picturesque surroundings and leads one upto the Buxaduar Forest Bungalow. This place is a haven for nature lovers, bird watchers and Trekkers.At Buxaduars, we arrange for the accommodation of our guests in Dukpa huts. The accommodation is basic, but neat and clean. Your evening and night will be spent in the glow of candles and Kerosene lamps as there is still no electricity.Overnight stay will be at Dukpa hut at Buxa.
Day 02: Trek to Lapchakha via Tashigaon
After breakfast, start your Buxa Lepchakha trek to Lapchakha via Tashigaon. Tashigaon is the highest village on the Rover’s point Rupam valley trail. This village offers an enchanting view of the Buxa landscape. It is about one and half hour trek from Buxa fort.From Tashigaon, one can take the core forest route to reach Lepchakha. On the way to Lepchakha, one needs to make an entry in the BSF register.Here too, we arrange for the accommodation of our guests in homestays. The accommodation again, is basic, but neat and clean. Your evening and night will be spent in the glow of candles and Kerosene lamps as there is still no electricity. Overnight at Lepchakha homestay/Trekker’s hut.
Day 03: Trek to Santhalabari and transfer to Alipurduar Lepchakha Accommodation
This morning after breakfast, you would check out from Lapchakha and start your trek back to Santrabari.Reach Santrabari and move to Jayanti. Go for the Jungle Safari in the Buxa Tiger Reserve (The safari would be either at Rajabhatkhowa/Jayanti).After lunch, we start our return journey to the railway station. It lies at the foothills of the Himalayas, on the way to Bindu in Kalimpong sub-division. Jaldhaka Hydro Electricity Project on Jaldhaka River is a major attraction in this area. Bird lovers can enjoy a varied collection of hill birds as well as migratory water fowls here.Bindu is the last village of West Bengal before one enters Bhutan. It is a beautiful valley on the bank of the river Jaladhaka. This river serves as a natural physical boundary separating West Bengal and Bhutan. Bindu is also famous for its cardamom plantations. Visit to this place is an experience worth remembering.Return in the afternoon and visit the "Nature Interpretation Center", which gives information about the flora and fauna of the Dooars area. Day 03 : Excursion to South Khayerbari & Jaldapara National Park
This day you are taken to visit the South Khayerbari animal rescue centre, the Hollong Bungalow and the Jaldapara National park, previously called the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary.Declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1991, for the protection of the Indian one-horned rhino, Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the foothills of the eastern Himalayas. The river Torsha flows through this rain forest sanctuary which is mostly covered with tall grasses.The sanctuary encompasses luxuriant vegetation and a rich variety of wildlife. The Malangi River also flows nearby from east to west. Riding elephants is the only way to move inside this forest and visiting time is 9A.M. to 4 p.m. The forest is mainly of Savanna Type covered with tall elephant grasses. The main attraction of the sanctuary is Asiatic one-horned rhinoceros. The sanctuary holds the highest rhino population in India after Kaziranga National Park in Assam. The other animals found are tigers, elephants, deers, sambhar, barking deer, spotted deer, hog deer, wild pig and bisons. Jaldapara is a paradise for bird watchers. It is one of the very few places in India, where the Bengal Florican is sighted. The other birds to be found here are the crested eagle, Pallas's fishing eagle and shikra, besides jungle fowl, peafowl, patridges, and lesser pied hornbill. Python, monitor lizards, kraits, cobras, geckos and about 8 species of fresh water turtles have also been found in the sanctuary here.Return from Jaldapara and overnight stay at Lataguri Hotel/resort

After lunch, we take you for an excursion to Samsing & Sunthalekhola. Samsing is a Dooars tea estate, encircling which, a small locality of about 100 houses has grown around. On the top of the hill there is a beautiful Guesthouse. The silence of the place is disturbed only by the noise of the gurgling river Murti, which flows about half a kilometer below. The drive to Samsing is through lush green Dooars Tea Gardens and the descending mist on the tea gardens during the monsoons is a sight to behold. It is a great spot to watch birds as well.Suntalekhola or Suntaley Khola (also Suntaleykhola) is a small village and a tourist spot in the Darjeeling District of West Bengal. The altitude of the place ranges from 650 to 950 m. It gets its name from a small stream: Suntaley Khola. In Nepali, Suntaley means orange and khola means stream. This place is nearly 5 km from Samsing. The green patch on the left side of the way to Suntalekhola is amazing and holds many rarities of birds and butterflies. There is a small hanging bridge just before the WBFDC accommodation.Overnight at Lataguri Hotel/resort.
Day 02 : Transfer to Kalipur or Rhino Camp/Dhupjhora Elephant camp and rest of the day is at leisure
Checkout after breakfast and depending upon prior booking, you would be driven to the Forest Department’s accommodation either at Kalipur Eco-Cottage (WBFDC Property) or Dhupjhora Elephant Camp (WBFDC Property).Enjoy the Dooars Elephant Safari with Tribal dance in the evening during your stay here. If you are at Kalipur, in the evening, you can enjoy the bullock cart ride and visit the Medhla Watch tower. Watch wild animals from the Medhla watch tower and return at evening. Thereafter, enjoy an evening of tribal dance. Accommodation is available in a few cottages but the tree house (named Teesta) popularly known as Gachbari is the one that attracts one the most. The rooms are equipped with attached bathrooms but without geysers. However hot water is provided to your room on request.Elephant Captivity management where you can see and enjoy giving elephants a bath, Elephant joy ride and Folk dance in the evening. Day 03: Elephant safari and transfer to Fagu Tea Estate.

Day 04: Drop to NJP via Lava and Dello.
After breakfast, we start for the last leg of our journey to NJP. On the way visit the Lava monastery as well as Dello. Situated at an altitude of 7,016 feet (2,138 m), Lava is a small hamlet 34 kilometres east of the town of Kalimpong via Algarah in Darjeeling district. It is one of the few places in West Bengal to receive snow in winter. The route to Lava is scenic with the change in vegetation from tropical deciduous to the wet alpine trees of fir, pine and birch. Lava is also famous for the Kagyu Thekchen Ling monastery, more commonly called the Lava monastery.Dello, also known as Deolo or Deolo Hill, is a large plateau with landscaped open lawns and pine and conifers around its edges and a beautiful well maintained lawn and garden. At a height of 1914m and only 6km away from Kalimpong, Dello is a perfect getaway amidst the majestic mountains for tourists who can enjoy the picturesque landscape overlooking the Teesta valley from the edge of a ridge.The sight of the beautiful meandering Teesta, the Teesta Valley on one side, the Sikkim hills on the other and the Kalimpong town itself with the Kanchendzonga above, all in a single picture frame. presents an awe inspiring spectacle.Have lunch at a wayside inn (Own Cost) and thereafter, drop to airport/railway station for onward journey. Day 2 : Transfer to Chapramari Wilderness Camp at Panjhora
After breakfast, we drive you to Chapramari Wilderness Camp at Panjhora (Travel time 2 hrs approx).This Wilderness camp, at the foothills of the Himalayas, besides the River Murti as well as the Chapramari forest is a wonderful location to chill outHere, the river Murti meanders its way down to the plains unveiling a serene panoramic view of distant tea gardens against the backdrop of mountain plains on one side and the dense forest of Chapramari on the other.You can enjoy the safari to the Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary (Payable by the guests on the spot) or simply choose to leisure it out.Overnight stay will be at Chapramari Wilderness Camp at Panjhora.
Day 3: Transfer to Barodabri Malangi lodge
After breakfast, we start for the next leg of your journey to Hasimara, where we would put up at the Malangi Lodge (Travel time 1hr to 1hr 30 minutes approx).The Barodabri Malangi Lodge situated near the Hasimara Air base and the Assam Bhutan border is our preferred stay option and your base for exploring the Chilapata Forest and its adjoining areas.
Day 4: Transfer to Buxa Jungle Lodge at Rajabhatkhowa.
After breakfast, we drive to Buxa Jungle Lodge at Rajabhatkhowa. Relax and enjoy the location of the lodge.The Jayanti River trail follows the river trail and culminates with a visit to the Jayanti village. Jayanti is a small picture perfect village beside the Jayanti river bed within the Buxa Tiger Reserve. It is a scenic concoction of mountains, forest and white vast river bed. River Jayanti has a small flow during the summer, but during the monsoon its beauty is ravage.Meandering through narrow jungle track one can visit the Chunia Watch Tower. On the way one can see the Chunia River. This Watch Tower offers a lovely 360 degree view of the Forest. Pukhri is a verdant pond on top of a picturesque hill. Locals consider this pond/lake as sacred and this pond/lake never dries in spite of it being on top of a hill even during the summer months. This pond/lake abounds in hundreds of Magur (Cat Fish) which are never caught by the locals. Tourists also indulge in feeding the fishes with Muri (Puffed rice) and soya beans upon reaching the pond/lake.Vehicles cannot go direct to the Pukhri, one need to walk through the deep forest for about 15-20 minutes to reach there.
Day 5: Excursion to Rasikbil and departure from Alipurduar
After breakfast, we set off for a half day sightseeing (Approx 3 -4 Hrs) to Rasikbil.Rasikbil or Rasikbeel is a small lake that attracts a lot of birds that nest in the trees around the lake. The varieties of birds that live in and around the lake includes cormorants, different varieties of storks, ibis, spoonbill, kingfisher, parrots, owl and many others.There is a Deer park and a Crocodile Rehabilitation Center by the side of the lake. There are also a Leopard house, a python house, Aviary & a Tortoise Rescue Centre.After this visit, at appropriate time, we drop you to Alipurduar Junction for your onward journey. Your tour ends with sweet memories.
